Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. The Cyrus siblings comprise two half-brothers, half-sisters and half-brothers and a younger brother, sister and a half-sister. Their parents gave their daughter the name Miley, in hopes that she would achieve success. Miley was her nickname in childhood due to the cheerfulness of Miley. Ron Cyrus is her Democratic politician father. Cyrus was a student at Heritage Elementary School, Tennessee. At the age of eight the family relocated from Tennessee to Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus' father Billy Ray took a role in the TV drama Doc (2001). Cyrus began her acting career during that time. The first time she acted was alongside her dad on the set of Doc (2001). Then, in 2003 she starred in a minor character in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus played in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show that follows a teenager girl who leads a double-life as a performer) as the lead character. Again, her father appeared alongside her. The show's success led to it was a time of hit songs as well as sold-out tours and sales for merchandise. Cyrus rose to fame as an early teen. Cyrus changed roles after the success and fame in Hannah Montana 2006. She was Ronnie Miller, alongside Demi Mood in The Last Song in 2010 as well as Lola alongside Demi in LOL in 2012.
